sound problem

I just bought a AMD 3000+ with onboard sound. I reinstalled the realtek ac 97
drivers,nothing. I also checked BIOS to make sure onboard was enabled. Now if
this is a PCI board do all settings need to be PCI in BIOS,because they are
reading EUD or something to that affect...
 
check to see if Windows Recognises you have the On-Board Sound Card, and then
check to see if Windwos has turned down the device Volume.
after that, i guess you may have to check your speakers,

thank you. I checked the volume. I looked in hardware for the onboard sound,
but I don't think it was there,not sure if I was in the write place.
