Sound plays on videos but the video doesnt

Hey im trying to watch videos but all i can hear is the sound it usually
happens on the net but sometimes its in windows media player 10 aswell pease
help!!

That is most usually a codec issue.

Almost all files you'll come across are compressed... or they will be huge.
A totally uncompressed AVI file will be about 66gb for about 30 minutes
length. A file compressed with DV-AVI will be about 12gb per hour. Now, no
one in their right mind is really going to sit and wait for this to be
downloaded, no matter how fast your connection is, so the file is compressed
with codecs... the two most often found are Divx and xVid....

You can run G-Spot Codec Identifier to find out which which codec the
original file was compressed

Once you know, then you'll need to download and install the correct codecs
and you will then be able to play the file correctly.
