sound pauses

anytime sound comes out of the speakers (windows startup,
playing a mp3,wav, etc) it will play for about 3 seconds,
pause for about 1 second, and continue this cycle for as
long as sound is coming out of the speakers. I have
reinstalled all relevant drivers, stumped tech support,
and still can't get it to work.

When your running sound, open task manager and on the processes tab see what
program is momentarily using all the cpu cycles causeing the pause or
skipping in the sound. Once you find out whats doing it, you can post back
and go from there.
