Sound no longer working

C

Cesar

I have a Toshiba Satellite P105-S9337 running Vista Home Premium edition and
Office 2007.

I turned the computed on this morning and I am getting no sound out of the
internal or external speakers.

In the Device Manager under the sound category, (Conexant High Definition
SmartAudio HD2) and under properties, it says the device is working properly.

However, when I play any music file I am getting no sound out of the
machine.

Can someone please help me?

Thank you.

I also have the same problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite U305-S5097. The
internal speakers stopped working about a week ago. The speaker icon is
marked with a cross and the message "no audio output device is installed".
However the driver is working and my external logitech speakers work when
attached. It looks to me as if this problem was caused by an automatic
windows update. Someone help us please!

Eventually found the solution on Microsoft's website - it is caused by
downloading the latest Vista pack. Solution number 5 worked for me ;this
entails uninstalling and then reinstalling the driver. I had in fact
downloaded the latest version of the driver before downloading the Vista pack
which is meant to prevent this problem but it obviously didn't.

I have the same exact problem, a week ago when i got my laptop back from my friend every thing seemed to be working quite properly. Until, like a day or two passed when i on my laptop and opened it had a bubble saying that the sound divice had been deleted. I was like whoa what happened? Well just to let you know the laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A55-S1066. I dont know what went wrong with it but there just isn't any sound coming out of the laptop, but the media player is still playing. If anyone can help me I would really appriciate it. Please Someone Help Me.
