I need some help on a sound issue I have with my
multiboot setup. First I installed Win98SE on my first
hard drive. No problems with that. Then I reformatted my
second hard drive to prepare it for installing WinXP Pro.
After I installed XP on it, everything went fine except
that I do not have any sound when I boot with XP. I have
tried reinstalling the sound cards and drivers under XP
but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have a suggestion
or solution to this problem? Thanks much.

Make sure you didn't unplug or partially unplug speaker
wires while toying with it.
Is sound card on compatibility list? Is mute on
accidentally? Try Windows Update for updated drivers.

Everything is ok as far as all those things are
concerned. The funny thing is that recently I loaded XP on
the second hard drive without a hitch. Sound and
everything worked perfect. The only thing I can remember I
did different the first time is to use Partition Magic to
resize the second drive before I formatted it. Otherwise I
have no clue. ???
