Sound is very Quite Except Login Music

My windows xp home edition suffers from a sound problem. The login and
logout music are at the correct volume but other sounds are not, this
happended the other day and all the volume levels are correct.

So far i have tried the following.
1 - Reinstalled DirectX
2 - Reinstalled the Creative Live Drivers many times.
3 - Reset the plug and play in the bios

I have noticed an error in the event log that the Audiosrv timeouts
but the windows audio service is running.

Any ideas.

You could try running Dxdiag from Windows\system32. Startup Wav file is simple mono
Most likely sound card's software problem. Is possible to get software from I-net.
I have Realtek Ac'97 in this thing and it loads auto with media center edition install
but when I put Xp Home in box, it doesn't resolve sound card at all, so I found
driver using above name as argument in Msn search. Download is better than Media
center software because it adds audio demo that includes sound of bumblebee
flying around room, via surround sound. Fun, Good luck
