Sound garbled after hibernation

Hi,

Whenever I put my computer into hibernation and resume it, the sound is
garbled so badly that I have to do a system restart to get it back to normal.
I assumed it was driver related as it ONLY happens after a hibernate, but
Realtek doesn't seem to know about the prioblem.

It's a Realtek HD Audio Device, running latest driver and I've tried last
4-5 driver releases and had the same problem. It doesn't seem to happen when
I use the Microsoft UAA driver, but then that constantly emits a buzzing
sound.

Thanks, Brody.

Hi, Brody.

Sorry I probably can't help you, but I wanted you to know that your plea has
been seen.

If you mention the make and model of your computer, and exactly which Vista
version you are running, someone here might recognize it had have some tips
for you.

My computer has Realtek audio onboard, but I never use hibernation, so I
have no experience on this problem to share.

My only thought is to disconnect your audio device completely, if you can,
and then power off/on to let Vista try to detect your hardware from scratch
and install drivers for it. They may be minimal drivers, but if you can get
a starting point, perhaps you can upgrade/update from there.

I'm sure it's a vista problem. my pc was working fine, untill very recently
sound from realtek onboard card AND m-audio box started to crackle. updating
drivers didn't help. mediaplayer plays allright, all other soundprograms like
soundforge, ableton etc have garbled sound (realtek card) or don't work at
all (invalis mediaformat error, which is strange for 16 bit 44,1 hz wav). all
this problems started only 2 days ago. before that everything was fine. I
hate it.
