I have windows xp pro, on my pc. When I upgraded to Windows XP pro with
service pack 2 and i lost my sound completely. So i did some investigating.
I went into control panel and went to into "sound and audio devices" under
the volume tab it say no audio device present. So everything was greyed out.
I went into device manager there was no yellow question marks anywhere. I
even saw my sound card device installed. I double click to see if there is
any IRQ or COM conflicts and there was none. I am not sure what to do.
Device manager is showing that I have it and Sounds and Audio Devices
property is displaying no audio device. I am not sure what to do. I have
uninstalled the sound card multiple times and rebooted the pc so it can
reinstall the sound card. It will reinstall device by asking for the cd to
reinstall the drivers. So i did that and it work. I click finish and the
sound still does not work. I even got another sound card to see if the sound
card is the problem, but it did the same thing. Can anyone help me out here.
