My laptop speakers are "echoing" the songs rather than playing them as
before after I installed Labtec Webcam.

Is there anyway to restore default or undo? I have uninstalled the webcam.
Still the echo problem persists. Should I restore system?

Hello,

It could be possible that your mic is picking up the sounds and replaying
them. Check the volume settings and mute the mic.

If that doesn't solve the problem, check whether your laptop has some sound
utility like Sigmatel or Realtek or Creative, open it and see if any
"enhancement" is in effect.

I have removed the mike too.

The echo problem persists even watching BBC news online.

I found the solution here given by "John DL"
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1055910670

Rightclick and uninstalled Sis Audio Driver in Device Manager. restarted.
The almighty XP quickly auto-detected the devices and put back a fresh copy.

Now, someone must sue Labtec Webcam Software version 10 for triggering all
echo phenomena.
