need major help. sound, webcam etc.

k well my brother recently reformatted my computer.
i have windows xp system pack one.
i used to have system pack two but i uninstalled it because i thought itd
clear my problems.
my problems are.
alright my sound is working but in only certain parts.
i havent tried every possible thing but.
for example, a song on a website will work.
but if a friend sends me a sound. it won't work.

AIM MESSENGER sounds work. some of them.

so that is my sound problem.

my webcam isnt working but im gonna try reinstalling it.
so ill get back to you.

now im regretting getting rid of service pack two.
and i cant seem to get it back.

now.
im wondering. if i should reformat my computer again.
or not.
see i dont wanna bother my brother again hes a very busy guy.
