sound clip from the web does not work on my power point slide

When I insert a sound clip from the microsoft site, it does not work on my
power point slide. I do not get the microphone, only the outline. I can
play the sound if I open it with Media Player.

How are you inserting the sound? And what type of sound file is it? Which
version of PowerPoint are you using?
