sound card

My sound has stoped and the mesage was multimedia card
not functioning, it is a radeon 920. I re instaled the
driver but stil no sound
thank you anybody who a help

An ATI Radeon is a graphics card, not a soundcard. Find and install the
drivers for your soundcard or onboard soundchip.

Forgive me for being stupid what is the best way to
findout what I have in the way of sound card/chip etc

First place to look for the specs of your PC is at the PC manufacturer's
website. If the sound is onboard, they will also have the drivers
available. If they tell you that you have a separate soundcard (unlikely in
most of today's off the shelf PCs), they will tell you the manufacturer of
the card. If you have any trouble, just post back here with the make and
model of your PC.

The other option is to check with Everest Home from www.lavalys.com .
This program will poll your hardware and tell you everything it knows
about it. Also, your ATI Radeon card is a video card and the latest
drivers are available here:
