have via the computer, as i need to install a driver for
mine, but do not know what sound card I have,

Right click 'my computer' properties/hardware/device manager...look down the
list for the sound card and do the same right click properties

Matt, you can also get a snapshot of your whole system by downloading belarc advisor from
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
It's really useful in finding more in-depth info for motherboards, chipsets, etc.
