Hi people

please help i have recently formatted my window xp proffesional as my
computer was running slow which i have managed tro sort after formatting, but
i am having problem running the volume on the system as it cant find the
sound card and there is no volume at all

can anyone suggest anything? i dont know what make of sound card is fitted???

There are a few clues you can pick up. First, if the sound card is
actually built onto the motherboard, you just need to know the make and
model of the board. This is almost always screened on the board itself,
visible when you open the case. Often it's between slots. Even if
there's only a model number, this is usually enough to identify the board
via Google. If the PC is from a larger manufacturer like Dell or HP, the
system model number or service tag will be what you need.

Once you have this, just go to the manufacturer's site and drivers should be
available for download.

Otherwise, an audit program like Belarc Advisor can help identify the card
itself.
