I have a problem with two sound cards. I have an integrated sound card on my
mootherboard. I want to have two cards, so i bought another card (PCI). When
I plug this card into my computer the BIOS automatically disable my
integrated sound card. In BIOS I have two options aboust integrated sound
card (disabled / aut). What shoul I do if I want enabled my integrated card
and use another pci sound card in the same time

I'd tend to think that adding a PCI sound card will disable your onboard
sound no matter what you do...

What motherboard do you have?

What operating system do you run?

I don't believe you can. It's possible to use two soundcards but AFAIK,
they must both be PCI cards.

I think you need to seek out folks who use PCs for pro music.

Don't know for OP's specific MOBO but what You state is untrue for Asus
A7V8X which has int. sound and which I have used once with SB PCI128, both
enabled.

Hence the 'AFAIK'. Perhaps you could explain how it worked with your
motherboard. Most motherboards automatically disable the onboard sound
when you add a soundcard, my last Asus board did. Someone posted a few
days ago that it requires special drivers (in their case) to get two sound
cards working and that you lost some functionality of the cards in the
process. How did you get the cards working and did it require special
drivers? Thanks.

I would tend to disagree, that many boards do not disable
the integrated sound.

I just inserted the cards and they worked. However, I don't know whether I
could play music through them simultaneously. I am sure that in the "sound"
section of the control panel of XP I could say which was the default device
to play sound, and both were there (i.e. AC97 and SB128). Anyway the onboard
chip was not disabled automatically.
I did not use the SB for a long time. I had found drivers for it for DOS to
play old games, but the driver was far from stable (it was "homemade" by
people who made an emulator for old big video arcade games) so I quite
rapidly removed it again (disappointed I was :-( ).
