I just recently purchaded a laptop from a friend and for
some reason my sound doesn't work. It doesn't give any
sound when i turn on my computer each time. I can't seem
to get sound when i play my CD's. I've tried everything i
know from raising all myb sound bars and going into
control panel-hardware-device manager to find out if
everything seem normal. which it does and now i don't know
what else might be wrong Can someone kindly help with this
problem

It may sound silly but.. make sure the 'mute' box isn't checked.
Do you see the speaker icon in the bottom right corner?

If that's not your problem, do you hear any sounds at all or is the startup
sound and CD Audio the only problem?

Are you using the built-in speakers or external?
