SOUND CARD/ON BOARD SOUND ENABLING ISSUES

I have a sound card installed into a PCI slot on my computer, but a recent
storm damaged it; it was in beside my network card (Which was also fried.)

I have been told that my HP Pavillion a1737c has on board sound; but... I do
not know how to tell Vista to look for it.

Try entering the BIOS,advanced, locate the sound section, select "enable"
save & exit...

remove the fried card, see if the sound enables itself. You may also
check the BIOS to see if there is an option in there. Contact HP tech
support for further assistance with the motherboard. Otherwise you may
need to replacing the motherboard with one from HP if it also got fried.
