Sound card - no sound

I just bought a new dell PC which didn't come with a sound card - so I put
in the soundblaster card from my old PC - XP found the driver all by itself
with no fuss and it is there in the hardware of the system, with no faults
reported - driver loaded - just not a peep from the CD player (I did push it
firmly into its slot, connected one cable to the CD internally, one to the
modem and the last one to the USB card

With the 5.0,there is no usb plug, try unplugging all
but the speakers,the cdrw,dvd,cdrom,are optional,xp
really doesnt benifit much. But to get going just shut-
down computer, try only speakers, use the lime colored
port.
