sound blaster live value not recognized by XP

I cannot get the downloaded drivers from Creative for this card to work with XP. It refuses to see the card is installed. Any one out there have a working solution or direction I should go to resolve this problem....thanks for any help you can offer.

Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > Sound Video and Game Controllers > check to see if you have any soundcard registered.

If you have a sound chip on your motherboard, and it shows up, you need to turn it OFF in the BIOS.
