Sound and Video lag when scrolling up and down on a browser

I'm watching the latest episode of a DL.TV and I have the video full screen
on my extended monitor (playing with Media Player Classic). Everytime I
scroll up and down on my browser (Opera), the sound and video start lagging.
Why is that?

I get a similar effect - lagging or juddery sound when scrolling in IE7 while
listening to WMA files in Media Player 11 in Vista.

I thought it might have been either a slight incompatibility between songs
ripped in WMP 9 and WMP 11 or glitches in file copy when transferring my
library of ripped songs from DVD back to my hard disc after installing vista.

Not, I'm not so sure...
