Sound and video drivers?

i recenlty got a game that told me i needed Directx 9.0, so i go it. and now
my video and sound drivers are not compatible with it. where can i find
drivers that are compatible with it?
 
What companies manufacture your sound and video card? Their respective
websites would be a good place to start.
