sound and audio

I lost all sound on my computer. I deleted a program
from my task manager because of the CPU usage (it was up
to 99%). Stupidly, I think I deleted something dealing
with sound. When I go to volume control I get the
message that "there are no active mixer devices
available." When I go to sound and audio devices it says
there is no audio device and it is all grayed out. Can
you help me?

Kelly, if you have a Via chipset and integrated sound on your motherboard
( not a separate Sound Card ) then go here
www.viaarena.com and download the Audio Device drivers and install them.
If you don't know what you have then go
here and download this System Info utility.

I have the exact same problem with the same messages
since I had to run recover. Do I need to download this
and just exactly what would I be downloading?
