Left Side Audio

My integrated speakers on my lcd monitor only plays audio on the left side.
Is not the monitor that doesn’t work because, I have connected it to another
computer and both speakers played audio. So, it must a software problem or
the audio driver, or something else. I tried fixing the problem by doing
everything that I could.

Logged in to my account went to control panel>sound…>sounds and audio
devises. Enable, place volume icon in the taskbar, and under the audio tap on
sound play in default device highlighted realtek HD audio rear output. walah!
I hear audio but only on the left side.

Restarted my computer and received a message from trying to access the
volume control.
"There is a problem with your hardware sounds. To install mixers devices, go
to Control Panel, clikc Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add
Hardware."

On sound, video and game controller in device manager there is a yellow
caution sign with the exclamation sign in the center, next to Microsoft WINMM
WDM Audio Compatibility Driver. Device status: A driver (service) for this
device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this
functionality. (Code 32)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

I did everything that I could do as, so far by adjusting system volume and
balancing the mixers.

Two days ago I booted up my PC and found out that the volume icon was
missing, so, I went to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume
Control, and received a message saying, no audio something detected, install
audio driver. No audio driver install but how could I hear system audio but
not audio from movies or itunes. And, most of all when I log in under my
non-administrator account I didn’t experience the problem.

Use Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
to determine/verify the realtek sound card/chip in your PC.
Then download and install the latest drivers.

thanks for the site. id verified the sound card, install the realteck hd
audio codec from the realtek download page, install the driver, restarted
computer, and it didn't resolved anything.

the belarc site is really good, will come handy on the future.

If your PC has a Sound Card then turn the PC off, remove the card and then
insert securely back into the motherboard PCI connector.
Sometimes reseating the card may help.

the sound device is onboard not a card. i should have mentioned that earlier,

Try this then.
Wiggle and rotate the sound cable (without actually removing it) at the
point where it is connected to the PC.
Do you get intermittent sound on the right side when you do this?

I didn't get no sound on any speakers after wiggling the the sound caple.

I had sound on my left speaker at first but after restarting the computer
there was no audio on both speaker, and that is when, I received the message
saying, problem with hardware sounds.

I just noticed that i have (!) next to my Realtek HD Audio. no audio device
installed. I reinstall the device and the (!) sign dissapear, but i still
have the (!) next to M$ WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver

Uninstall the WDM driver and reboot.

Did you use the same cable when you moved the monitor to the other PC that
had good sound?

Question: What make (brand) and model number is your PC?

Uninstalled the WDM driver and reboted. Now, I can access the volume control,
but no volme icon on the start-up bar. I have audio on my left speaker again,
and I get a beeping sound on my tower.

All this time it was the cable. I was using an old cable for a new monitor
and never bother just test the cable that came with the new monitor.

Tested the new cable and both speakes work perfect. To think that I called
tech support and wanted me to re-format my harddrive. And, as for the beeping
sound I guess I'll reboot my computer to see if still get the beeping sound.

Thanks JS for taking your time and helping a guy (noob) like me. I really
appreciate it.

Note: In some cases you made need to get the exact audio driver from the PC
manufacture's web site, which is why I ask for the information on your PC.
