Carla,

Yes, maybe start with a short one and use the option to send it via
email.... it'll make the video and attach it to an email... you just need to
add a note and select the people.

Hi there,

You can use Movie Maker to do that, its one of the Save File options. If
your relativs/friends dont mind watching a postage stamp sized video with
tinny sound then thats your answer. You should also take into account what
kind of connection they have to the internet, a slow connect via a
telephone line will not leave them thanking you for your efforts.

Movie Maker when used for this purpose restricts the final size of the
video to be sent to something like one or two megabytes. In other words the
size and quality will be real bad...even more so if the video duration is
long....lets say 15 mins or more.

You can use movie maker to create a more reasonable file and then use the
features of Outlook express to send it in a more managable way...you get it
to break the video up into segments which are transmitted
seperately...Outlook at the other end knowning about this method will
convert the segments back into one video...but you still have enourmous
transmission and download times to contend with. Take note also that in
general terms if you are on broadband, it takes 3 to 4 times longer to
upload a file than it does to download that file. So if you take one hour
to send the file(s) and your relative is on the same speed broadband as
you, it will take them 15 to 20 minutes to download it, if they are on a
telephone/modem set up it will take between 150 to 200 minutes to download.

If you want them to enjoy the video and see it in a good sized display,
create your video and transfer the file to a CD and post it to them. They
will appreciate the results of your work much more.
