Sorry little off topic re Printers

As the headline says sorry if this is a little off topic but I have read
this NG for long time and have often seen reference to specific printers.

I create lots of documents in Word and most are text only for which I am
looking for a new laser printer. My current QMS PagePro 1100L has been a
great disappointment with quality issues, physical problems with the machine
(the on/off switch) and software related issues. I recall complimentary
comments about HP, on this NG, and others but can't easily find the threads
on Google.

Some of my documents contain between 4 and 12 colour photos and I upload to
a commercial printers web site and they courier deliver next day. However
with their min quantity and convenience issues I now feel it is worth
looking into laser colour printers especially if it will do my text docs as
well.

Any help appreciated and again sorry if I am too far off topic but I am
anxious to get some good advice.

Black & White only laser around £250 (I think 330 to 400 Dollars).
Colour I will consider around £1,000 (1700 dollars) or more as I currently
spend through a third party £100 per month having colour printing on A4
colour one side and A3 colour all sides.
