I tried to download the DirectX update I kept getting an error message saying
it couldnt continue with the install. I then downloaded the full install and
it asked me what folder do I want the files extracted to. My question is
which folder do I extract to?
 
It doesn't matter because it only want a directory to use as a temporary
location. Once it's extracted itself to that directory you will then go to
it and find setup.exe to use as the installer. Once installed you can then
delete everyhting in the location you selected.
I use my \TEMP folder
 
You could use the temp files.
