Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I bought a DVD writer for my birthday...
Only I have found out that it requires a sata connection to the computer.
I only have an IDE connector.
Is there any way of getting around this? Or will I have to re-sell this on a well known online auction site?

Cheers

The only way I can think of would be to buy an SATA PCI card, but to be honest you can get DVD Writers for £15 now so it's probably cheaper to sell it and then buy a new IDE one. Or a swap with someone in the opposite situation :thumb:

Keep the drive and buy a PCI/SATA card ... they are also cheap and it will give you a bit more life to your MB

Thanks for your advice. I don't suppose you have a model for rge PCI Sata card?
Only I have already tried to buy a converter and I have already bought 2 that are not right.

Found one on Ebay.. Was only £10 inc. delivery.
It has 2 internal and 2 external connections.

Hopefully this should do the trick.

Thanks for your help!
