1: Close all of your applications.
2: Remove anti-virus applications (or at least turn off active scanning).
3: Buy more memory.
4: Buy a new computer.
5: Put it in your car and drive it down the freeway. (Hey, it's moving
faster than it was when it was sitting on the desk.)
6: Throw it off a cliff.
7: Replace your 4200 rpm hard drive with a 7200 rpm hard drive.
8: When your coworker who just got a new computer goes out of town, swap
CPUs with him. Don't forget to swap the hard drives. If you're lucky, the
computers are the same color, and he won't notice.
9: Use remote access to get into your boss's computer and use that one to
run your builds. He'll never notice, because it won't affect the
performance of his Solitaire game.
10: Delete your data files. Not only will it run faster, it will weigh
less.
