Sometimes unable to paste in Access tables

Everyone in my group is having a recurrent problem with Access where we are
unable to copy/cut and paste fields or records in a table. When we click
copy/cut or ctrl-c/ctrl-x, a progress bar appears in the bottom left that
says Copy in Progress, but it never moves off of the first dot on the bar.
After rebooting the machine, we are able to copy/cut and paste as normal -
until the problem occurs again. At that point, we must reboot to clear the
problem. Closing out of Access will not correct the issue, but we can
copy/cut and paste highlighted text from a field. Just not the whole field
or record.

Has anyone seen this before?

We've run into that to where I work. I think the going theory is the
clipboard is full. Try clearing it before copy/paste.

Hopefully that's it.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. I can open the clipboard toolbar and then
select the record/field to be copied, then click copy or press ctrl-c and it
never actually gets copied. The Clear Clipboard button never activates, so
there's nothing to clear.

For some more info, most of us are using Office2000. The only person in the
group who has not encountered this is using Office2003.

Thanks for the ideas

Paste Append (as well as all cut/copy/paste functions) becomes greyed out and
unavailable.

Well, if you figure it out, post it here. The "advice" I gave you doesn't
work and I'm running into this problem today. My fix was to create a
make-table query based on that select query -- at least that works.

hopefully someone will be able to figure this one out.
