Hey is this a common problem, i hear the startup music so i know vista
loaded ok but the monitor stays black. It only does it sometimes and always
comes back find after a reboot. I tried the usuall fixes, new drivers etc
but it still does it. Thanks in advance.

Next time this happens, power off / power on your
monitor.

The startup sequence goes through many video modes
in rapid succession - some monitors occasionally barf
on the quick changes (as does my Samsung 191T) and
thinks that you are trying to force an unsupported mode.

Doesn't happen all the time here, either.

Replug your graphics card...

Don't know very much about hardware, DO you!?

If the graphics card is improperly seated, the OP would get a series
of beeps during POST.

Actually I do.... as in 25+ years of doing... ;-)

I have had two PCs with the above symptom - both cured by replugging /
reseating the gfx card.

Possibly (?) either card comes loose due to thermal cycling (unlikely)
or, connector goes high resistance - voltage drop on supply rails?

PSU issues (insufficient current) can also give the problem.

No need to be so fu*"£ng rude dude.... ;-)
