Something odd with System Restore - Software Distribution Service 2.0 and Installed Your Application

Hi,

Just to confirm, the system in question has WinXP Pro SP2?

Are you using Automatic Updates? If so turn off Automatic Updates and set it to " Notify,
but do not download or install. Now go to the Windows Update site and click the Custom
button. Make a list of what's offered and post them here.

Also post the latest entries from the WindowsUpdate.log. The last 30 should do.
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type %windir%\windowsupdate.log, and then click OK.

Are there any "Symantec" applications installed on the system?

Have Home Edition SP2 with all current "Hotfixs" and undates. Already Update
"Notify".
Current on all IE6 updates.
Received all your suggestions, including custom downloads; previously from
"Trend Micro using " PC-cillin" as spyware protection. This updates every
time I log on.
Also use Spyblocker(current) and Spybot "Search & Destroy" Current Version
2.61.
Also, Use TUT to trouble shoot system. Also received nearly identical
suggestions from TUT.
Still Looking.
