Something is adjusting system clock. Virus ??

Hi,

Some virus or piece of malware seems to be adjusting the date & time
on my pc's system clock.

Yesterday, I noticed that the clock was showing the wrong date &
time... it was showing April 1 0500, ie 15 or so hours earlier
that the date/time here in New Zealand.

I immediately went & adjusted this... but when I hit the apply button,
the time immediately bounced back to April 1.

Today when I booted the pc, the clock was reading April 2.. I adjusted
it again to correct date / time...
but same
deal.. it bounced back.

I ran a full virus scan, but nothing showed.

Please Help!!

thank you.

You don't mention your operating system, I suppose some version of Windows.
This is from the header of your post:

"Date: Thu, 2 Apr 2009 12:59:47 -0700 (PDT)".

If you're in New Zealand I belive that the time zone should be set to
GMT+10:00 or thereabouts.

Hi,
Thanks for your response Ernie.

I am running XP Pro.

Our time zone is GMT +12 hrs.. (Auckland, NZ) ....but this is not the
problem.
Something is overriding the clock... instantly after a manual
change... and I can't tell what is doing it.

Well! That's somewhat of a puzzler. The next place I would look is at the
BIOS battery on the mother board. How old is it?

Something, possibly the same thing, is causing quoted words in your reply to
run together, see above. I've never seen that before.
