Something deactivating Active Window every minute or so

Ever since I installed XP's SP2, I've had this problem: Whatever window is
active will suddenly become inactive, about every minute or two. It's like
the computer is "going somewhere else" and if I'm typing in a text box or
navigating a web page, I have to click inside the window to re-activate it
before I can go on.

I've tried to use Task Manager's "Processes" area to figure out what's doing
it. It may be msmsgs.exe that's causing the problem. Anyone have any
experience with this problem? What can I do to fix it?

Not sure …
But if you are not using Messenger, uninstall it.

I was able to uninstall Windows Messenger by following a link posted in
another thread here. The link is:

Free and extremely easy.
