You've entered "SMTP" and "POP3" into the server name fields, but those are
not the correct names.
Your email provider should have a help page with the correct server names
and settings required to access your email account.
If you tell us the part of your email address following the @ symbol,
perhaps someone can help.

The trouble with computers is that they work on the GIGO principle.
(Garbage In, Garbage Out) ;-)

Anyone running a book on whether Jo will find the way back here?

What a waste of space the web interface is!!

You have incorrect server names.

Try this: Go to Tools, Accounts, Select the account under Mail, Select
Properties, Select the Servers tab, and then enter in both incoming and
outgoing mail your server information. For incoming, and example is
incoming.verizon.net and for outgoing, an example is outgoing.verizon.net.

JO..when you set up your email account..you have to go to TOOLS/ACCOUNTS and
then type in the correct POP3 and SMTP addresses. That "correct" information
has to come from your ISP. I use ATT and I had to scan the internet to find
the correct input data. You can also call your ISP's help group to get it.

It isn't Windows Mail's fault. It just has not yet been set up correctly on
your computer. Only your ISP can tell you what data to type into the boxes.
regards, Rich (also over 60 and often confused)
