somebody please help

Hi, my windows xp started behaving funny a few days ago. first, the
"folder options" disappeared from the tools menu. then, registry
editing became disabled by the administrator. Moreover, anytime i try
to access the registry, open a zip file, or install an application,
windows automatically restarts. I formatted my c drive and reinstalled
windows. after two days, the same started to happen again. does
somebody know the problem, is it a virus? please help!

Most likely a virus. Do you run an antivirus AND a firewall?

Microsoft provides free anti-virus software that can be used for 1 year.

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network Connections, Local Area Connections, General tab,
Properties button, Advanced tab, and check the box, "Protect my computer and network.......
etc", click "OK"
