some1 i used to know somehow put windows xp on his laptop
when he was at my house... he doesnt have my cd key and
he was never given permission to do this. now i need the
licence he stole from me back. is there a way to
deactivate my cd key that he stole from me? so that i may
re-register my 2 licenses.

There is no way to "deactivate" a Windows XP installation
or Product Key. All you can do is be a lot more careful with
securing your possessions in the future. Ask yourself this
question: "What would I do if someone stole $300 cash from
me and I knew who did it"?

so what stops me from going on the internet and using a
ramdom key generator... and stealing some1 elses cd-key?
b/c if there is nothing then... by the days end that is
what i will do...

1. It is illegal to use a random key generator.... they don't work anyway.
2. You'll be unable to "activate" Windows XP.
3. You'll become a "thief" and will end up in jail one day.

I'm I missing something here

If he has XP activated, then how did the other person activate it on their computer?

Since you "used" to know them, does that mean you don't know them
anymore? If not, why the hell were they at your house using your
computer CDs?

If he "doesn't have your CD key" then how could he use it to activate
his copy? What's the problem then?

If you have two licenses, and you used one for your computer, what's
the problem here if he stole the other key and activated under it?

Your post is full of holes and makes me a little suspicious.

Actually Carey, the KeyGens do work and can generate Valid Keys - I've
seen it in action. They generate many more invalid keys then valid
one, but they do work. Once you get a valid key for your type/version
of windows, they activate just fine.

I agree that the term "theif" applies, but as for whether a single
person doing this on their "single" computer will get jail time - well
it's pretty slim odds that jail time would be involved. MS isn't too
interested in the little guy doing this, when there are pirates out
there churning out millions of contraband MS CDs.
