I ahve Windows XP Service Pack 2. I went to Run, and typed in 'control
userpasswords2'. I just looked at it and changed 2 of them to Power
User, but then I changed it back to just Admin users. Next thing, i
restarted the computer, and only two accounts are left, both I didnt
change, but the other two that I changed but then put back to it's
default, are now gone! If I still go to Documents & Settings. all my
folders are still there, but how do I "revive" these two accounts?
Thanks in advanced

I simply made two accounts with differnt names and copied all the files
from the folders into the new accounts. I couldnt revive or overwrite
the account by using the same account name because it would object:
"The Account name already exists". But is there someway I can get rid
of that record of that previous account, maybe in the registry, and can
I also edit the account name by doing something in the registry. Can
somebody please reply as soon as possible!

Are you running XP Pro? If you are go to the Control Panel, Administrative
Tools, Computer Management. Within Computer Management, go to Local Users
and Groups, Users, and delete the unwanted User Accounts.

I am running XP Home Edition. I tried editiing all of the registeristry
keys to the name I wanted to but it just end um make another account
with i.e. user.USER . I fixed that though, but still, I can't find the
Local Users & Group Users Folder within Computer Management. Where is
it?

Windows XP Home does not have the "Local Users & Group" feature in the
Computer Management. I do not know how you changed your User to a Power User
in XP Home, you should have received an error when trying to do this because
XP Home does not support Power Users.

You could try this command from the command prompt.

net user username /delete

So if your User Account is named William you would type

net user William /delete
