Couldn't you just organize yor start menu so that it isn't so messy?

makes no difference. you delete some of the stuff and within a couple of
days it's popping up again. really annoying and pointless.

and it's not really messy. it only shows six shortcuts in the bottom pane,
the rest are invisible anyway.

I believe we are talking about different things then.
What "annoying bubble" are you speaking of?
How many items/folders do you have in your "All Programs" start menu?

Can you give a better description of what you are seeing and what you are
expecting/wanting to see?

Hello, Steve,
My interpretation of your problem is that you are in need of an adjustment
to the "number of programs that you use most often". That's the programs
shown below the divider line and just above "All Programs". To adjust the
number do this: On the Taskbar (in a blank area) right click and click
"Properties" on the popup menu. You will get a
"Customize Start Menu" dialog box. On the "General" tab, under "Programs",
you can adjust the "Number of programs on Start menu". I prefer to have more
programs shown above the divider line, and having an abundance there
generates a cautioning popup that I don't have enough room. Try reducing the
number to be shown below the divider line downward from what you have now
until you reach a number that doesn't generate the warning.
Let us know if this solves your dilemma.
