Some pop-ups always gets through

Some IE pop-ups always get through: questionmarket.com, mediaclick.net,
atdmt.net, tribalfusion.com, casalmedia.com ...... and some such.

This is irrespective of pop-up blocker settings. Is there a way to prevent
or block these?

System totally clean otherwise as per AdAware, SpyBot and AntiVir.

I use a HOSTS flie IP blocker, and get maybe 1 popup a month and very few
