Still Getting Pop-Ups

Hi ~ I have Pop-Up Blocker enabled in IE6 SP2. I continue to get pop-up ads
when I visit intellicast.com, which is in the 'Internet' security zone under
Internet Tools menu. This zone is set at 'medium'.

The 'sites' button for that zone is 'greyed out'... why is that?

I have run Norton Virus Scan (up-to-date definitions), also Ad-Aware and
Spybot - and they find NO spyware or viruses, etcetera...

How can I get the intellicast.com pop-ups to stop?

Do you have the pop-up blocker cranked up to High via Internet Options,
Privacy and have you entered intellicast.com to the Blocked sites list
via the Sites button ?

I have the pop-up blocker set to high, but the 'sites' button is 'greyed out'
under the 'internet' security zone - why is that?

Anyway, I just tried moving the intellicast.com site to the 'restricted'
zone and adding it to the site list there - it is also set at 'high'. This
seems to be working so far - the page loads, but no pop-ups. Wonder how long
this fix will last... :)
Thanks!

I have XP SP1 and I do not have a pop-up blocker and I do not get any popups
at
http://www.intellicast.com/

Update Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D and scan your machine for spyware.

[[Internet zone: By default, this zone contains anything that is not on your
computer or an intranet, or assigned to any other zone. ]]

For the Sites button to become active you have to select Local intranet,
Trusted sites or Restricted sites. The Sites button is not active in the
Internet zone.

[[You cannot add Web sites to the Internet zone, which includes everything
that does not belong to any other zone and is not on your local computer. ]]

OK - I re-scanned my computer with Ad-Aware and Spybot (both are updated
versions) in SAFE MODE. They showed NO spyware.

My Norton Internet Security 2005 would not open in SAFE MODE, (why?) so I
could not do a virus scan - though I HAD just scanned in the non-safe mode,
and no virus was found. Now I am concerned as to why my Norton won't open in
safe mode - any thoughts?

I have the 'intellicast.com' now listed in my 'restricted' sites list, but
it still pops up every couple of times I open it... it's like it's TRYING to
find a loop hole, or something... :)

OK - I have run all the spyware catchers, virus scan and added the Hosts
file, also, added the site to the restricted list, have the security set at
high - rebooted etcetera - and the ads are still popping up on that site...

Thanks for the suggestion! I posted at AumHa Forum this morning - haven't
heard anything back yet...

Tried the Spyware Blaster program a while ago and it seems to have stopped
the pop-ups for now, but I'd like to know what is causing problems...

There are SO MANY removal tools... redundancy?

Are you following the instructions in the below link to set the
Popup-Blocker settings to "High"?
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/web/sp2_popupblocker.mspx

Also make sure intellicast.com site is not in the exceptions list in popup
blocker.

In "Internet" security zone, the "Sites" button is greyed out because
"Internet" zone is for all sites that is not added to any of the other
zones. So all Internet sites are by default in this zone. For preventing
popups, you should properly configure the Popup-Blocker.

HTH,
Ayyappan Nair
