Please help to block pop-up windows

Hi all,

I am running Window XP SP2. I have recently experienced with some pop-up
windows that occur when I was viewing some of the websites. This have never
happened before. I have done almost everything, but the problem is never
resolved. Here are what I have tried to do:

- installing google toolbar and enabling pop-up blocker
- having my pop-up blocker turn ON and setting Filter Level to HIGH
- trying to use SpyBot SD, Norton Antivirus 2007, SpywareDoctor 2007,
Ad-Aware Pro 2007 to scan my laptop to kill spyware, adware or any virus

But, all of that did not help me much. The pop-up windows still come up back
then. I do not know what else should I do to resolve it. Can anyone gives me
any suggestion? Thank you.

As a note: my Ad-Aware Pro 2007 detected some viruses after I tried a full
scan on my laptop, but it was not be able to remove them. I tried to check
the box and pressed Remove button, but they have never been removed.

Ad-Aware is not an antivirus application.
What version of Internet Explorer are you running?
Have you tried Firefox?

First - make sure you have NOT installed "Rogue AntiSpyware". There are
people out there who created AntiSpyware products that actually install
spyware of their own! You need to avoid these:

Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

Also, you can always visit this site..

For more updated information.

Install the first five of these: (Install, Run, Update, Scan with..)
(If you already have one or more - uninstall them and download the
LATEST version from the page given!)

Hi Shenan,

Thank you for your reply. Regarding to the IE version, I am running Internet
Explorer version 6.0.

Sorry, I did not mean Ad-ware, but AdAware. I already had it and Spybot
Search & Detroy. I will download the rest three that you suggested and give
them a try. Do I need to run them under the SAFE MODE? Thank you.
