I've recently added a new faster system drive and am trying to migrate and
reinstall as I go. At first, I found part of the problem with the way I did
this was with the built-in Windows security (I had to take Ownership of the
everything on my old drive before I could access some things). I've done
this, but I've come across a new problem. When I tried to move (this may
have been my first mistake - moving instead of copying) all the contents of
my old My Document folder to my new one - some of the documents appear to
have never made it but have still disappeared from the old drive. Any idea
how this could have happened or how to recover these missing files? I should
note here that during the process, I received a message denying me access to
4 files I know I can never open again (this is due to another completely
unrelated, but sadly similar issue that I don't think anyone/anything but a
heavily experienced hex-editor can solve).
