In April 2003 I posted an article to this newsgroup asking how to restore
the missing Add button in my Windows XP Pro's Stored User Names and
Passwords window but no one was able to provide me with the answer.

Last we a work colleague solved it.

To restore the Add button in Windows XP Pro's Stored User Names and
Passwords window go to:

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Settings > Local
Policies > Security Options

(BTW this can also be got to by using Run > gpedit.msc and then Computer
Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies >
Security Options)

and then changing:

Network access: Do not allow storage of credentials or .NET Passports for
network authentication to Disabled

Changing this entry from Enabled to Disabled will restore the Add button in
the Stored User Names and Passwords window!

The PC must be rebooted for this change to take effect.

Hope this is off some help.
