Oh boy, I didn't expect 3 answers so quickly. I appreciate it. I haven't
gotten my notebook yet. Will get it Friday and I'm sure Vista will be a
challange

I'm a 70 year old housewife? and have been "playing" with
computers since Win 3.1 and have learned alot. Most of it comes from
newsgroups like yours. Thanks once again.

The problem with any comprehensive list, even one from Microsoft is that
it is a moving target, it's only as good as the last update. Further,
such a list is of no use to you if you later find out something isn't
compatible. By this, I mean, if you go to the application provider or
their tech support and mention you checked some list for compatibility,
their next question to you is "Did you check with us?"
You know which applications you have and/or are considering. Your
safest bet is to check with the application maker's website for the
latest versions, updates and compatibility with Vista. You should do the
same with your hardware as well, check manufacturer's websites for
information on all your hardware, both internal and external.
I think that's terrific. Good luck with the new laptop. If you need any
more help, just post back.
