Software(s) Won't Recognize Internet Connection

B

brettharlow123

Running XP SP2 on an HP Pavilion.

I have an active Internet connection through a Linksys router.

I boot IE, and I get the Internet clean and clear.

I boot anything else, and the software doesn't recognize the
connection.

Not Outlook, not Yahoo Messenger, not AVG Antivirus, not MSN Messenger.

HP will not help because I have an active Internet connection.

Neither will Linksys.

Neither will ATT/Yahoo, my ISP.

I have told each CSR that is highly improbable that ALL THE SOFTWARE ON
MY COMPUTER, EACH ON ITS OWN, ISN'T WORKING when all these apps work
fine on my Dell.

HP is supposed to care since their CC is bundled with Windows, but no.

Can someone please tell me what to do, or who to call or chat or
e-mail?

Thanks as always to this friendly community of strangers.
