Please can someone confirm if this is possible.

having gone to process all my details to open new email account in
outlook at the very end i then cant log on to network password ...due
to message saying'log on to incoming mail server
[pop3] outlook could not connect to incoming server [pop3] mail server
because the server did not accepy username or password...but being this
is new info being put in by myself cant see hoe this can be not
accepted???
after several emails to wanadoo they now say it is because of my
software...to be perfectly honest i did buy the software office
professional 2003 on ebay for just £19.99 do you think this is the
problem???

The information you put into Outlook must match what the POP3 server already has on file for your account's credentials. You cannot put a "new" username and password into Outlook and have the server use that information to create a new account for you.

If your ISP is unwilling to support Outlook, try setting up the account first in Outlook Express. If you get it working there, you can use Outlook's Import and Export Wizard

You do realize, I'm sure, that the copy of Outlook you bought may have been pirated. The page at http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/office/default.mspx will tell you more.

Did Wanadoo assign you a username and password for accessing their mail
servers? If not, you need to have them assign them and you can change the
password to something you like on your account web pages. If so, then
you're not using the credentials they assigned or you are not specifying
them correctly in the account properties.
