Hi,

I have Win Media XP. I installed the software from my digital camera, but
with one component it failed to install properly: the stiches component.
I try to uninstall it but it does not find the component, even though it
shows on the list.
If I try to re-install it, it cannot because it finds it already as
installed.

Any hints please?
Thanks,
Doru

In general, when trying to correct a single component in
an installation and it fails, just uninstall the entire
application...in this case, all of the software for using
the camera. Next, re-boot and try to install the app again.
Be patient since what might appear to be a mis-install can
be a slow install. That is, it is still working and might not
have failed to install. Aborting setup, however, will trigger
this present situation. Windows is pretty good about showing
a dialog box for a failed install.

Thanks G for the answer. It was not slow, it just locked for about 10
minutes before I kicked it out.
I now try the same thing, to install or uninstall with no success. Is it
possible to solve this by changing the registry?

We've stopped installing digital camera software some time
ago, preferring to remove the memory card and downloading
directly from it via a card reader. IIRC, Stiches is an
optional program. If the camera installation program has a
custom feature, it might be preferable not to include that
application. And as for editing the Registry, try uninstall
first before backing up the Registry and removing the keys
related to Stiches.

I would like to use the stitch feture which comes with the camera software
for the panoramic pictures.
Uninstall/Install have no effect.

And I don't know what to do to the registry.

Hello, use system restore to restore to a point in time b4
you had the bad install. This will restore the system, including the
registry as it was at that time.
