Software designed for XP Home won't run on XP Pro?

Johnny Asia

Hi,

A friend of mine has been trying to get biofeedback
software, "Life System", to work on his computer,
a Compaq laptop with XP Pro.
It locked up the computer every time he tried to use
it. He called the guy who wrote the software, the guy
said "Oh, no wonder! It's designed to work with XP Home"
So, my friend bought XP Home and I installed it for him.

The "Life System" still froze the computer. He called the guy again.
who blamed it on me, saying I must have left old files from XP
on the computer.

I know the guy is bullshiting, but my friend, who spent
lots of money on the "Life System", believes what
they tell him.

The guy who wrote the software said "Microsoft has
known about the driver problems with XP Pro for years but
have done nothing about it."

I need help debunking this scam artist.

Thanks,
Johnny

A friend of mine has been trying to get biofeedback
software, "Life System",

The CD has a Neato stick-on label, poorly designed at that.
I did a search for "L.I.F.E Systems Limited", all I found was this:

http://www.wingsandimages.com/alternative/life.html

The Latest Quantum Technology Available Is A L.I.F.E System
The mission of Living Information Systems is to produce the finest
evoked potential biofeedback device possible.

Every component of the L.I.F.E. (Living Information Forms Energy)
System has been compiled with the greatest degree of originality,
competency and integrity. Medical professionals and practitioners
interested in the exciting world of quantum science may use the system
as a bridge between traditional healing approaches and energy
medicine. Living Information Systems is dedicated to providing
technical assistance, marketing supervision, internet web support and
professional training.

The L.I.F.E. System is an evoked potential biofeedback device. It
records subtle, "reactive" informational stress potentials provided by
the client during the assessment procedure. The computer evaluates the
responses, and then challenges the individual with that information by
feeding it back to the client. This process assists the body's own
natural defense mechanisms by encouraging energetic balance and
harmony.

The following areas are included on the L.I.F.E. System:
Musculo-Skeletal and Dermatone Profile
Color and Chakra Profile
Neuro-Emotional Profile
Meridian Profile
Rife-Like Auto Assess and Feedback
Chromosome and Gene Profile
Organ Specific Sarcodes
Muscles, Cartilage and Ligaments
Circulatory and Heart Profile
Respiratory Profile
Digestive Profile
Nerve Profile
Bone Profile
Lymph Profile
Ears and Eyes Profile
Sinus Profile
Sport Profile - Injury and Trauma
Dental Profile

$11,200 for software that doesn't work?

Anyway, http://www.lifesystems.us/ states -
"Windows XP is the necessary operating system. A Pentium 3 or 4 Processor
operating at 1.5 Ghz with 512 megabytes of RAM and ample hard drive capacity
is recommended. A 25 pin parallel port and a USB port are essential
components. "

But also -

"All components are warranted for one full year against manufacturing
defects. Technical support will be provided free of charge for 90 days
following delivery. Such support will pertain only to the L.I.F.E. System,
not to the Windows operating system."

It sounds like a bit of double-dutch to me. XP (no mention of Home or Pro)
is necessary, but no support to the OS????

XP Home and Pro are the same core operating system. Pro has additional
features. XP includes a few generic drivers but the rest are provided by
various hardware manufacturers. The ultimate responsibility for providing
these is with the hardware manufacturers. XP has been out for a few years
now. Most software and hardware companies have their applications and
drivers up to (XP) speed.

After looking at this crock of nothing but a scam, I would suggest you tell
your friend to try and get their money back.
P.T. Barnum would sum this adventure up nicely.

It's worse than I thought. This version of
"The LIFE System" is an upgrade. My friend
had the older version, it kept locking up the
computer,so the LIFE "tech support" suggested
the " upgrade." My friend is the answer to their
prayers. All it will take is 50 suckers to pay $11,000 each
and they can take the money and run.

My friend bought a new laptop,
thinking the problem must be the Compaq laptop he bought
last May, with Athlon 2200, 512MB RAM, 20 GB HD.
He believes the "tech support" who told him it must be the computer,
because he has a friend who owns a similar laptop, and his LIFE
software also locks up the computer. He called "tech support" and they
said the "optimum" CPU speed is "about 2.1 GHz". Even though they told
him 1.5 Ghz would work when he bought the "software"

I have tried to reason with the guy, but he needs to
cling to his illusion for a while longer. Until he tries the software
with the new Compaq laptop, P4 2.6 Ghz

Tell your friend that I have a PC guaranteed to run the software with no
problem. It's only $10,000. I'll take a cashier check :)
