hi :)

I have some software called "find it." The software indexes every word one
types in microsoft word or excell. I have used it for many years in Windows
98 without problems, both in my home and at work. Recently my office updated
the OS system from 98 to Windows XP2 Professional edition. The "Find it"
program does not work with the Windows XP2. I have 2 laptops with Windows
XP Home edition. "Find It" works fine in those laptops. TheWindowsXP search
program is not as good as "Find It."

Can anyone suggest how I might be able to get "Find It" to work with XP2
Professional Edition?

Thanks in advance

Do you mean Find Fast (findfast.exe)?

Some features do not appear in the Microsoft Office 2000: Selecting Features
dialog box when you install Office 2000

See indexing service in Help and Support.

Indexing Service
You can use Indexing Service to index documents and document properties on
your disks and store the information in a catalog. You can also use Indexing
Service to search for documents, either through Search on the Start menu or
through a Web browser.

Is it really called Find it? Or is it the find fast component of Office? If
it is find fast then you are the only person I've heard that actually wants
it- most desperately want to get rid of it, it can be/is a total pain. Just
save your files with a logical structure that can be followed. Remember that
if you choose File Properties as you can often put comments and keywords to
help. Is it an optional install now rather than installed by default because
it's not wanted by most users?
Have you tried to reinstall it from your original CD that it was installed
from?

If it is actually called 'find it' then you can right click on the
executable (the exe , or start file) PROPERTIES, VERSION, COMPANY should
give you the publisher (. Or try a web search).
