Snap shot viewer won't install without a printer configured

I have an Access report that I post as a .snp file. One user cannot install
the snapshot viewer; error is that a printer is not configured. And no, she
doesn't have a printer. Is there a work around?

Wouldn't matter if there was. Even if she could install the viewer it won't
work unless she has at least one printer driver installed and set as the
default.

She doesn't need to have a physical printer attached. Just needs a driver
installed and set as the default. Just install a free PDF writer as that
will be a handy thing for her to have anyway.

I'd appreciate some hints at what we need to do...a free pdf driver sounds
good. What do I need to have her do?

Thanks for your help.

Have her Google on "Free PDF Creator Writer". She should get quite a few
choices for programs that can be downloaded and installed for free. I use one
called CutePDF and am very happy with it.

If you are not familiar with these programs they set themselves up as printers.
When you print something to them you are prompted for the name and location for
the created PDF file and the result is a file rather than a hard copy sent to a
physical printer. They are handy to have as you often need to share documents
with others and PDF is widely used for this and most everyone has a viewer for
them (or knows how to get one).

In her case it will satisfy the Snapshot Viewer that she has a default printer
set up. It will not prompt her for file creation just when using the Snapshot
viewer. Only if she instructed a program to actually print a document would
that occur.
